Sustainable Livelihoods & Youth Empowerment
We equip vulnerable communities especially youth and women with practical skills and tools for income generation and self-reliance. From vocational training in carpentry, poultry farming, and eco-brick making to supporting micro-enterprises, our programs are tailored to build local capacity and economic independence in marginalized areas.
Climate Resilience & Environmental Conservation
CLOUT implements community-led conservation initiatives focused on restoring degraded ecosystems, promoting reforestation, and adapting to the impacts of climate change. Our partnerships have enabled the rollout of carbon-smart practices including bee-house technology, fireless cookers, and biodiversity preservation in critical habitats like mangroves and drylands.
Clean Energy & Appropriate Technology
We introduce and scale clean, low-cost technologies that reduce environmental degradation and improve quality of life. These include solar cookers, water pasteurization tools (WAPI), biodiesel from Jatropha and Croton, and stabilized soil blocks (SSBs) for eco-friendly housing. These innovations are community-owned and driven by the need for sustainable alternatives.
Water Access, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
Water is life. Through projects like the Olorien Water Project, we expand access to clean and safe water in underserved communities. We also conduct water testing, WASH education, and build the connection between water, sanitation, and health. Our approach combines infrastructure, education, and behavior change to ensure long-term impact.
Health Education & HIV/AIDS Mitigation
CLOUT addresses the intersections of poverty, health, and social stigma by delivering HIV/AIDS education, supporting PLWAs, and providing home-based care kits. We engage schools, churches, and community groups with programs that promote abstinence, safe practices, and access to testing and support services.
Digital & Inclusive Infrastructure
We believe that technology is a catalyst for inclusion. CLOUT is exploring inclusive platforms that can deliver education, financial access, health information, and market linkage to rural populations. By partnering with like-minded institutions, we aim to bridge the digital divide and ensure rural innovation is part of Africa’s transformation story.

Blue Carbon Restoration Initiative
Together with Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry – Kenya, CLOUT is spearheading the restoration of degraded mangrove forests to:
Rebuild over 1,500 hectares of coastal ecosystem
Train local youth and women on mangrove restoration techniques
Integrate blue carbon credits into the global voluntary carbon market
Foster community ownership of conservation outcomes
